Scream Daisy are a Maltese based alternative rock band. Jotham, Lincoln, Tim, Gary and Jeremy share a love for music and they came together to write songs reflecting their lives and the world around them.
The band is influenced by a variety of artists and styles. Artists like Placebo, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd and Muse are all funnelled through Scream Daisy's unique approach to alternative music. The band's embrace for such a wide spectrum of music enables them to constantly experiment with sounds and melodies while at the same time producing songs which are both instantly recognisable and unforgettable.
Releasing their first radio single, Room 7, in 2001 Scream Daisy became an instant household name in Malta, during a time when local music was deemed inferior to the international scene and not given proper credit on Maltese media. The band's first public appearance after this release, during the Heineken Jamming Festival of 2001, made the Maltese public realise that local bands and acts can be as good as or better than foreign acts.
After a number of TOP 10 singles, their debut album “In Case of Emergency” was released in 2002. This album was an instant chart topper and in that year Scream Daisy won 2 awards at the MALTA MUSIC AWARDS, one for BEST SINGLE and one for BEST LIVE BAND.
Scream Daisy have since then matured both musically, with the release of their much awaited self entitled second album in 2007, and performance wise, proof of which is the constant demand for them in the local music circuit.
The band has also won the BEST VIDEO award at the MALTA MUSIC AWARDS of 2007 for their song PRETTY, a video which was entirely produced by Maltese talent in Malta.
The band is currently working on material for their third album and performing at selected events throughout 2009.
The Marsovin Summer Wine festival is set to be a wine festival with a difference. The location alone lends itself perfectly to a walk through Citadel Wine Festival. The event will be a smaller version of the Marsovin Summer Wine Festival in Malta though still well planned to host two of Malta’s favourite entertainers, one of which Scream Daisy unplugged.
